Trinitas means “trinity,” one God in three persons in Christian doctrine. “And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.” (John 1-5:8) I divide the painting into three squares. The house in the upper square represents our selves. In the other two are a dry desert and a dark rice field. I use this special composition to show how one’s true, outer, and inner selves are deeply related to one another, just like the Christian trinity. Reality is visible, but without an end. Anxiety is invisible, but can be felt very vividly. I try my best to maintain peace of mind while all the negative feelings, including anxiety, come and go.
