Lichun is a large-scale album pieced together from the post-production artwork from his Typhoon titled motion picture. Subject details include the rain dampened rice husks being awaken by tadpoles, signifying spring and fertility, then finally sprouting and blossoming into rice paddies. The background shows water waves and blue sky stretching five meters in length; while running along the top are movie production symbols and markings that gives its contrasting feature. General consensus is that when viewing traditional long scrolls or albums, the viewer will be able to experience the temporal aspect arranged by the artist through local spatial shifting. In Lichun, the artist fully understands and conveys this message to the viewer. The modernity of traditional elements can be easily demonstrated through this artwork. (Lin Cyuan-jyu)
