“Yun-Yung(The Cloud that Owns the sky)” by Wang Ching-tai Wang Ching-tai graduated from the Sculpture Department in the Fine Art College at the National Taiwan University of Arts. His works primarily focus on exploring the modern syntax in which modern art uses the human body as a creative signs and how modern art sets up the body of its works while adhering to the core culture of this new artistic syntax. “Yun-Yung(The Cloud that Owns the sky)” is a work filled with fable imagery. At first glance, the people in the work seem to be excessively and purposely curling their bodies up in the shape of a moving snail. However, after looking at the work as a whole and paying close attention to the hips, legs, upper body, head and the spiral-shaped hair braids that are seemingly flying in the sky, we see that the artist has made continuous and fully-formed human forms and expressed a carefree and leisurely attitude.
