Using the simulation method in painting, I maintain an intact image of myself in a theatre represented by the canvas. I let out the desires deep within my heart as I cross-dress, and look into this theatre of cruelty that specifically belongs to me. Perhaps this can be a way to heal my wounds. As Lucian Freud said(1922-2011), “My work is purely autobiographical... It is about myself and my surroundings.” I try to regain a metaphysical, pure spirit of mine. My work is an imitation, a projection of my non-realistic super ego (an uninjured me) on the canvas. This creative technique also speaks more truthfully of what I think. I would vent my overwhelming feelings using large patches of colors, and then polish them until they look spotless and clean. At the same time, I try to hide those sensual desires of mine underneath my pale body and face in the picture. It is with layers of paint that I come up with this somewhat blurry human figure who wanders between his inner spirit and the physical body.
