The subject is taken from some literature depicting one of the most famous scenic spots, Chipen, in Taiwan, where mountains are verdant and waters are clear. I personally visited the beautiful place before, and was deeply attracted to it. I simply could not wait to paint it! The colors and proportion of the landscape have been adjusted, however, to create an atmosphere more fitting to what I wish to express. (Huang Chao-mo)
