It will be proved in time that discrepancy or even conflicts would gradually emerge between what we see and believe to be real and what is actually happening. While visual images may record what is happening at the present moment, they are unable to convey the changes which occur beneath the visible surface. Beneath the figural facade, the real world is hidden deep in our heart like a still image which we believe is true but can never accurately articulate it or prove it – just like a black hole, incomprehensible but somehow manages to keep growing by absorbing everything we have. (Face). This piece is the 5th series of my works which explore the complexities of human nature and the dynamics of human interaction. While we are often led to believe that people get to understand others better through social interaction or through observation, I often wonder how much we actually understand each other. We tend to form our theory and belief system through knowledge fed to us, but will the theory remain intact after years of clashing with real-life experience? And how do we face up to our new faces which keeps changing in the flow of time?（Chen Wen-chi）
