This artwork illustrates how a stag beetle specimen is made. Insects have rather short lives compared to human beings. But when they are made into specimens, it feels they are still alive—and will always be. Eternal life has been pursued by mankind since ancient times. But according to present-day science, it is impossible for anything to sustain forever, since all things are constantly changing and the Universe also keeps expanding. Perhaps eternity can only be confirmed when a comparison or contrast is made. I inserted elements juxtaposing against the stag beetle. Maybe viewers will be inspired enough to form new thoughts on this topic
