This artwork is composed of two main elements. One is a photograph printed out and transferred onto the canvas. The other is the objectified human body inspired by the surroundings which I presented through painting. All of such strengthens the idea of “I am here and I can appreciate the surroundings” generated at that crucial moment when I pressed the camera shutter. I would like to discuss the “experienced landscape” in this artwork. While the photographer and the photographed person can experience the same time and space during a photo shoot, only images of the photographed person, or his or her body in this artwork, so to speak, are left. For the photographer, this results in “intimate alienation” because what he or she experiences corporeally is not necessarily the same with what is printed/painted afterwards.
