“Source of Happiness” by Lin Wen-de Lin Wen-de graduated from the Sculpture Department in the Fine Art College at the National Taiwan University of Arts. His work “Source of Happiness” uses half-abstract organic shapes to create the image of two adults and child hugging each other, and Lin used forms of fragmented bodies to meld the bodies of the three people in the work together. Lin calls this work “Source of Happiness” in order to promote the fact that a tight-knit family is the foundation for a healthy and prosperous society. He uses closed-off shapes to express the fact that the propagation of future generations in families starts with having a happy and healthy family structure. Lin used the melded forms of the husband, wife and newborn infant to interpret the meaning of happiness, and he also used natural curves to simplify the human forms in his work to express the mixing and integration of emotions in a low-key manner.
