During the six months of the artist residency program in Paris, I was most fascinated by the scaffoldings surrounding the buildings of Paris. I have come across similar scenes in Taiwan many times. However, the difference here is whereas in Taiwan the scaffolds are erected primarily for constructing new buildings, in Paris they are mostly used for the repair of historic buildings. Although the process of such architectural repair is often slow and cumbersome, it gives out a charming and captivating feeling. I must admit that watching the historic buildings being maintained or repaired gives me feel uplifted and happy! This prompts me to wonder if we have the same level of patience for ourselves. As long as we treat our old bodies with new-found wisdom and cherish our past, we can also be our own heroes in many reflective moments of our life.（Ho Meng-chuan）
