After long periods of erosion, uplift and weathering, the rocks evolve into various other types of materials. The same pattern seems to be applicable to our everyday experience, as our characters are the product of the accumulation of experiences, whatever nature they are. I made close observations of little rocks and realized that the small mineral crystals in the rocks seem to be an ideal metaphor for our individual lives and acts within society. I am constantly inspired by the rocks and enthralled by the way in which the mineral crystals join together or interlock into masses of rocks. They taught me an important lesson that one should never underestimate the gentle, small actions that take place within individuals because these small acts will accumulate into the goals that we want to achieve.(Huang Chin-hua)
