David’s Paradise is a non-storytelling documentary video presented in high definition over five screens, featuring a non-descriptive personal state of mind. The artist created this in memory of his friend David whose personal story and sudden passing became the basic script. Wang intentionally omitted the dramatic points in the story itself, but instead challenged the storytelling aspects of this visual expression through track shots, scene clips, post-production, and other digital imaging techniques. The powerful visual presentation directly reflects upon the psychological perception of the human mind, and infuses the personal story into widespread cognitive sensations. (Wang Jun-jieh)
