“Emptiness” by Tsai Shuei-lin Tsai Shuei-lin graduated from the National Pingtung University of Education. Her work “Emptiness” is a sculpture made from cement and an abstract work composed of geometric shapes. From the outside, the work looks like a hollowed-out Buddha statue to express the idea of “Buddha is emptiness, emptiness is Buddha”. This work has a minimalist art feel to it. It uses both tangible and intangible structures, and people do not exist in the work, only objects. Although the outside appearance of the work is “intangible”, the viewers can fill in the emptiness of the work in their minds and make it “tangible”. The work expresses the idea that nothing in this world lasts and everything changes, but still leaves a lot of space for imagination for the viewers.
