When the creation of lives becomes little more than the scientific pursuit of gene cloning, or when biochemical sciences have developed into a mere geometry of soulless life, our humanity gets buried underneath scientific data and technological advances. What would be the meaning of eternity, when everything, even including the human life and body, can be copied for the purpose of human consumption? What would be the one thing which surpasses biological life and death? These questions continue to haunt us, but critical self-reflection seems to elude everyone.(Huang Zan-lun)
