In this series, I try to objectify the human body while proposing the idea of “flesh-based art.” When creating flesh-based art, I wrap, press, and pile up human body parts to result in an ever-extending kind of layering. By filming at a close distance, I also hope to capture these boundary-breaking images at their best. “The human body” here becomes a neutral medium that can be used to compose a picture. The result does not resemble anyone or anything. The fact that it is composed of flesh makes it look unique enough. In a way it also looks ambiguous because it is no longer seen as a specific human body, but something newly created out of lines, shapes and flesh.
