In The “O” series, I deal with the transformation and mimicry of “mechanical expressions.” Mechanical expressions are a kind of subjective imagination over machines in movement or operation. Such imagination is different from one person to another, and therefore how one sees “movement” also differs. Because of this and the fact that anyone could be my audience , I decided not to describe the exact expressions or characteristics of my subjects in this series, but instead let my audience to freely imagine those. The “O” series, when in operation, do have some characteristics resulting from different structures and components. Their movements and speeds are just like mankind’s personalities. It feels that they live like the people surrounding us in their own specific ways.
