The one thinning chair leg connecting to the tree twig is actually part of it, not a separate leg.
I turned part of this big twig into a chair leg and then brought together all other parts of the chair and this leg using tenons. The natural and the artificial, as well as raw materials and crafts, are thus presented at once in a very different way.
The chair is made of imported wood except that single hind leg which is part of native Taiwanese wood. The fact that they are molded together to create something new indicates that foreign and Taiwanese cultures can also be integrated to form a new culture within the existing social framework.
