This stop-motion animation started in an innocent, colorful and imaginative Utopia. However, when the characters were attacked by an unexpected bombing, the happy scenes turned to be absurd and out of control and eventually became a nightmare of sex and violence. All in all, the work begins with a typical land of happiness that is innocent and imaginative but then is ruined by sudden destruction and disasters and then shadowed by threats. This work pays close attention to the relation between imagination and threat in the contemporary life. It not only deals with issues brought by globalization and the influence of capitalism but also brings up all kinds of worries we have to face in our tense life. I wish to make my work full of imagination as well as “kitsch” in the sense of sight. (Young Artist Collection Catalog)
