Things come to our minds because they want to be described.
This is the land we live and the surroundings we are familiar with. We learn about the images of the Taiwan society through mass media and modern communications. But these images are like light coming from a cloud of mist. We can perhaps walk through this mist but we can’t possibly touch it.
So, things come to our minds because they want to be described. But are we drawing the real images or just some traces of light?
I have learned that art may not be powerful enough to change the whole world or create a new social order. But it can effectively take off the disguise of an existing system.
This artwork was inspired by elements the present-day society, like a profession, a fashion, a spirit, and a metaphor.
I gaze into the light.
