As people experience painful medical conditions and the subtle changes of mind that come along, they often realize that they must deal with death instead of looking at it from a far distance. I write about my innermost feelings for my body and my own existence through painting. I savor the poetic moments in daily life when death looms near, as well as the loneliness and sorrow that these moments invoke. Perhaps before we are finally set free by death, we shall be trapped in our bodies as containers of souls, fighting against and accepting fully the perfection and imperfection of life.
