"Images" in my works are often represented by blurry, light ink spots. They seem visible when you observe them from afar, but as you go near, you’ll see they have dissolved into the background. This shows that our ambiguous world is ridden with truths that cannot be told by the human eyes. But it is also because of such ambiguity that one can savor the truths to his or her likings. Every brushstroke in my work represents both a trace of time and my personal attempt to reduce/dissolve my "self." The simpler the stroke is, the easier it is to penetrate "me." Unlike others who may want to make a statement or question something through art, I see the encounter of water, paper, ink and my mind a pure encounter in life that happens under an inexplicable force of destiny. For me, such is the most primal nature of life. Thus every moment when I create art also tells the depths of life.
