This series of work is trying to reveal the unseen scenery of current situation of limestone quarry in China. Most of those sites are owned by Taiwanese cement coperations who moved to China after exhausting Taiwan’s mining resources. Truncation, a critical step of the SOP in mining process, creates a geometrical and rigid traces of machinery excavation. Those traces settled down in the middle of vast green forest, shows an incredible spectacle of man-made scenery. Those works adapt a specific aesthetics form from Song Dynasty. Which rearrange / reinvent nature to mimic the mental spectacle and represent the monumental landscape of traditional Chinese calligraph painting, “Shan-Shui(山水)”.
