In the center of this painting are a birthday cake and twin birthday stars making wishes. A birthday party is a key social event for many, and making wishes means a lot to the birthday stars. Bathed in candlelight, the twin birthday stars seem to feel all the more connected with one another, having shared their past, present, and –future. I hope to capture this wonderful, magic moment and portray people’s inner feelings expressed through their subtle facial expressions.
