I selected five criminal events reported in the newspaper and shot simulated news clips on the purported crime scenes. I fabricated a male and a female character and had them played by two emotionless actors in the videos. Because we shot on location, elements reported in the newspaper, such as a villain’s car, were included in the films. This makes the fictional characters look like the real persons involved. I maneuvered between these protagonists without names, the persons involved in the real events, and myself to produce pseudo-media coverage on my own. This is not a recollection, but theatricalization of the news events. I aim to show a kind of news landscape and media perceptibility instead of the events alone.
