This piece is adapted from an image which first appeared in British broadsheet newspaper The Guardian. The irony of this image is that while it was associated with the G8 summit held last summer in Japan to discuss the global food crisis, it showed the world leaders enjoying a sumptuous banquet during the summit. Characterized by the exaggerated, theatrical scene of revelry, this piece satirizes the hypocrisy and self-interest of the developed nations in terms of the way they deal with the global food crisis issues. (Tu Pei Shih)
