“Who cares about how ugly the bob is? It's what's underneath the hair that matters,” Mum says, “Nothing but school matters.” This piece features statuettes of two high-school students. With big heads, heavy school bags full of textbooks, empty eyes and feeble bodies, they are clearly under tremendous pressure because of school and competitive exams. With exaggeration and ironic humor, this piece gives a vivid picture of the miserableness of what is conventionally considered a “top student” in our society. (Dwan An Kou)
