Through the transformation of its contents, my work attempts to re-define the physical and psychological space of our everyday life. This piece is an extension of my earlier work ROLL (2002). When it rotates, the image-covered wall looks as if it had numerous sides. The texture and colors of the object become unclear once they are presented through images. I then add texts and images which yield no specific meanings to the video installation. As these texts and images keep being covered and revealed, some fragmented messages emerge from interlayers like unknown symbols which contains certain clues or inspire imagination/questions. What I try to do through these marks is to develop a space in which meaning can be reorganized in a random pattern, or to inspire certain imagination. (Wang Ya Hui)
