I created this artwork during my residency at GlogauAIR, Berlin, Germany. “Kunst” refers to “art” in the German language, and I have been interested in how free information of art is circulated. In continuation of Involuntary Reader, I would like to discuss how art information is delivered to the public, how we receive it, and why it exists at all. To compose Kunst, I collected art flyers in Berlin and arranged them in a non-conventional order, such as by size, zip code, color or alphabet. In Berlin, a city where art is overloaded and overrated, I hope to challenge the public’s perception of art and how art information should be categorized. I also want to question the relationship between art and society, the contribution of art to society, and the workings of art in society.
