“Stretches” by Lin Ching-shiang Lin Ching-shiang is majoring in Sculpting at the Fine Art College at the National Taiwan University of Arts. The work “Stretches” uses human movements during exercise to express the power and beauty of the human body while doing unusual movements. Lin not only wants to express the limits of human stretching but also wants to use the movement of continuous somersaults to create a visual illusion that makes viewer have a continuous sense of movement in the minds, increasing the dynamism of the work. In order to make viewers focus on the changing movements of the bodies and limbs, Lin simplified the form of the human heads into cylindrical and cone shapes to deter viewers from wanting to see the facial expressions.
