This painting, which depicts the parked aircraft on an terminal through the gate window, is inspired by some fond memories of air travel. Whereas the highway may be an ideal metaphor for the linear progression, the airport waiting lounge can be the connection point and resting perch between the lines, and the aircraft is a symbol of revitalization after the brief rest. The airport lounge is a place designed specifically for the needs of the traveller. It is either the end point of a trip or the starting point for a journey into a brand new territory. It signifies a farewell to the familiar as well as a hello to a new start and serves to soothe the transition between the two territories for the traveller. This painting is inspired by my love for the aircraft which, equipped with advanced technology, has enabled us to carry out the human desire for freedom, and has therefore become one powerful symbol for freedom and spiritual liberation. The aircraft and the airport waiting lounge reconnect our body, our mind and those forgotten memories like the time machine in the science fiction.（Chen Kun-feng）
