Since 1994, I started to research and develop “digital art creation autonomy system” and therefore brought my creation into a brand new field. In the past the mysterious signs and symbols written on paper are now 4D images processed by high tech. They are no longer motionless on papers but living and moving. These images lead us into an artistic world that is virtual, imaginative, organic but also pure. The artificial lives I created are like dividing cells, living but fickle. Biologists place living cells on Petri dishes to be propagated; I put my artificial life digital artistic creation in computer programs to create and develop virtual lives. This 3D animation film lasts nearly four minutes, and it is the calculated result of the artificial life computer program that I developed. They can propagate by themselves and during the process due to the reconstruction or mutation of genes, there might be some different forms in their next generation. These virtual creatures have autonomy and continue to evolve and develop a symbiotic virtual living circle. (Young Artist Collection Catalog)
