Today, 3.5 billion people live in cities across the globe. The urban landscape is not just a landscape. It is a symbol that reflects that advancement of the civilized world. It can be said that every modern city has been built according to an imagined model, and therefore it does not necessarily have a characteristic of its own. Sometimes it would also be built according to some popular construction method. Despite it is characterless, more models will still appear in the city and demonstrate an imagined ideal life that people go after. To create this artwork, I took photos of architectural models and real-life urban activities, bringing them together to form a surrealist landscape. I hope to break the boundaries between the real and the virtual, showing that as we lead an urban life, we actually live in an imagined model.
