The 4 figures in this story are paddling in an animated manner while walking on stilts and ultimately drown in a boat race. This calamity that befalls them was actually predetermined by their actions in a previous life, as the sailors’ fate was sealed when they refused to release thirty-eight baby sharks still in the womb of a pregnant shark that they had killed. The artist intends, through these images and this plot, to expose bad intentions hidden in the human subconscious. By showing the peculiar destiny of each of these disabled individuals, this dark tale reflects the confusion of values and appearance of excessive behavior in contemporary Taiwanese society, and serves as a grave warning to the world.
