Emphasized by photoflashes, the party scene in this painting looks so real and unreal at the same time. In the creative process, while party animals indulge themselves in places as dark as night, I use flashlights to bring them back to light. Then, I release the captured artificial light on canvas, letting it shine through paint. As soon as it starts shining, the protagonist falls into a twilight zone between the existential and the nil. In this way, light becomes a penetrating force that reflects the fictional reality of youth. In fact, through the proper use of flashlight, innumerable meanings can be generated. Hardly does one come to realize, however, that blankness resulting from over-exposure can be remainders of the un-represented ones.
