The artistic language of my painting is always lurking around the edge of abstraction. Whereas symbolic landscapes make up the composition of the painting, the abstract icons set the emotional foundation of it. With the combination of abstract thinking and realistic images, I try to explore the hidden landscape of the painting. In the painting, he bubble-looking blobs of colors keep changing shapes over time – bubbles, spheroids, rocks and mountains – as if they were silent carriers of language that expresses complex feelings and emotions, whereas the tree shapes seem to resemble the shape of a human being who tries to redefine the space of a limited area. The bubble-shaped “spots” and the tree-shaped “lines” make up the unique artistic language. With the flowing mental imagery and the spatial structure supporting with each other and forming dialogues, the mixture of fantasy and reality gives the painting a layer of complexity and richness.(Hsu Kuo-Yu)
