“From Chaos Opens up the Cosmos” by Wang Wen-jr Wang Wen-jr graduated from the Fine Arts Department at Chinese Culture University. His work “From Chaos Opens up the Cosmos” uses bronze and marble as its mediums, and the inspiration for the work came from the myth of an axe creating the world. At the very beginning of history, the sky and earth separated from each other, and life started to form. The axe cut through the giant rocks, the collision of a sharp edge with a hard object causing the sparks of life to burst forth. The handle of the axe pointed up at the sky through the clouds, turning life into an endless extension. When this work is placed beside modern buildings, which is an environment full of linear structures, the corroded green bronze and the stones that have weathered the ravages of nature silently reveal the sadness brought by the passage of time.
