“Wave” by Cynthia Sah
Cynthia Sah has an Ed.D in Art and Art Education from the Teachers College at Columbia University. Her specialty lies in using white marble or bronze as her art mediums and utilizing the minute changes in the texture of these materials to create works that seem to flow through space, reflecting the tranquil and serene minimalist aesthetics within her works that originates from Eastern philosophy.
In her work “Wave”, the flowing curvy lines of white marble lightly and smoothly expands in space, showing to all viewers the purity of the medium. The marble is seemingly a soft space, riding on a vast expanse of azure blue waves and fully showing off the flowing tension and the tangible/intangible aspects of the water ripples, all the while being immersed in a harmonious atmosphere.
