When the use of advanced software applications has become standard practice in art creation, we develop a growing emotional attachment to and dependence on technology. While we aspire to technological growth and development, we should also reflect on why we valued art in the first place, and whether or not we have derailed from our original intent. The large-scale application of modern technology has led us to a discontinuous sense of time. As a result, it seems that we can no longer get a clear picture of ourselves from memory. Yet despite such a crisis brought upon us by technology, I still choose to replace the traditional linear time with the new, technology-induced sense of time. So I rearrange the time points and place them all on the same time axis so that we can all see them from a broader perspective and capture those faces that are fading away over with passing time. I put up the same pose and face on every time point in order to get as close to my true face as possible and, in between those time points, try to capture a sense of ambiguity that arises between reality and fantasy.(Lin Jun Liang)
