Inspiration came from my inner context during a visit to Taihu Lake (China). Taihu was fantastically laid out in front of my eyes and put me into a trance. The caves and rocks on the island form a psychedelic image and the fern type figure is a figment of my distant self.
My technique stems from the landscape painting from the Jin and Tang dynasties, transfusing with the patterns from my observations on the peculiar rocks and mountains, to create a surreal new look for the landscape painting. (Yuan Shu)
