These works are sketches for a later oil painting. They develop a recording of my state of mind and include pictures of various possibilities. Together, practically all of these pictures illustrate the continuity and fragmentary quality of my thinking. Some of the sketches were later made into large oil paintings, and others became finished works on their own.
