I like to work with dogs; they give me freedom when I create. It is impossible to totally control them; however, they can be trained. Although their behaviors are driven by their simple desires, they do have some intelligence. Their simplicity is pure, and in the process of working with them, the structure of a very complicated myth is peeled one layer after another. By this work, I wish to bring up the problems existing in social structure, cultural phenomenon, national identity and the hierarchy between man and dog. For this purpose, I put dog masks on my works with several different methods. In the very careful and exact but multi-dimensional creating process, I hope to provide another pair of eyes for the viewer to see the world. “Unity of All Religions” shows a white dog inscribing religious scripts on a white wall. In this work, the written language the dog is writing is fro Baha’i religion. In their religious belief, the history of a religion is the doctrine brought by prophets who were the servant of God. Lao-zi once said: “Do not strive for the thing you want and you will have it; do not compete if you are weak so you last long.” Let’s hear what dogs have to say! When we read DOG in reverse order it has become GOD. (Young Artist Collection Catalog)
