Lee Mei-shu (1902-1983)
Lee Mei-shu was born in 1902 in Taipei County, Taiwan Province, and he died in 1983. He graduated from Taiwan Government House Chinese School (Provincial Taipei Normal School at present) and Department of Western Arts at Tokyo School of Fine Arts (Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music at present). Lee was one of the founding members of Akajima Association and Tai Yang Association of Fine Arts, established Oil Painting Association of the Republic of China and served as a standing board director of the Association. He was a professor of National Taiwan College of Arts and department head of Department of Fine Arts, and a professor of Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University. He served as a member of the judge panel of National and Taiwan Provincial Art Exhibitions. Lee won the Special Choice Award of the seventh to tenth Taiwan Provincial Art Exhibition and numerous other awards and honors. (Liu Kun-fu)
